Open data collection

The OpenMovement AxLE wrist-worn activity tracker adopts a new approach to data collection. Its long lasting battery life and open data formats provide research institutions and organisations

We developed a wrist-worn sensor and data collection platform using NRFUart hardware stack and Bluetooth Low Energy for wireless communication. This is an Open-Source project with the hardware designs, firmware and communication libraries all freely available and in continued development. The sensor tracks general activity data (steps, moments of inertia etc.), displays activity data to the user on the screen and provides for programatic interventions with the ability to vibrate and flash the device over bluetooth.
