About the Project
Ignite Insurance Systems, a forward-thinking leader in the insurance sector, faced the challenge of integrating real-time vehicle telemetry into their insurance risk models. They needed a solution that would streamline vehicle onboarding for brokers, handle complex workflows across different car manufacturers, and deliver dynamic, real-time data to fuel better insurance pricing. The goal? A seamless, scalable solution that enhances both the broker and end-user experience while allowing for easy integration with existing and future third-party systems via a dedicated API.

By working closely with Ignite's leadership and conducting in-depth research, Think Active Labs identified key challenges in handling real-time telemetry data from various manufacturers. We zeroed in on the importance of building a platform that provides an effortless onboarding experience, with flexible API endpoints and robust backend support for future scalability.
Design
Think Active Labs crafted Ignite Signals to be an intuitive and scalable solution, designed to integrate seamlessly into broker portals and provide real-time telemetry data for insurance risk modeling. Key elements included:
Embeddable Web Components: Easy-to-use, custom dashboard widgets / branded modules for customer portals, allowing brokers to onboard vehicles and access real-time data.
Administration Portal: A user-friendly interface for brokers to monitor vehicle telemetry and fleet performance, ensuring full control.
Flexible API: Tailored API endpoints for seamless integration with both Ignite’s own systems and external partners, enabling future growth and expansion.
The platform was built using Vue.js for its dynamic frontend, and PostgreSQL for robust data storage and security.
Outcome
Ignite Signals transforms Ignite Insurance Systems' approach to telematics. The platform dramatically simplified the onboarding process for brokers, enhanced real-time data collection, and enabled dynamic pricing models based on real-world driving data. Built to scale, it provides Ignite with a powerful, future-proof solution that positions them as a leader in insurance innovation, ready to serve both existing and new clients.
